CHALLENGED FOLKS!

This is an informal gathering for people with
little or no technology knowledge. Learn about all the neat things you
can do with computers or digital cameras and easy ways to get started
and overcome fear of technology. This gathering is Q and A session
accompanied by demonstrations. Refreshments and fun will be served.
Instructors: Computer Club Members
Cost: $5 per person

PHOTO SHOP – PICASA
Wednesday,
September 10, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Learn the exciting world of Photo Shop and how to download photos from
digital cameras to the computer. Learn the techniques of photo
enhancement, cropping and downloading to CD’s. Participants should
bring their digital camera and USB cord. A Google gift CD which
includes Picasa will be given to each participant.

COMPUTER CLASS FOR BEGINNERS
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sept 15, 16, 17, 18 -10:30- 12

This is a four session computer class for beginners. Learn the basics
of the Mouse, Keyboard, Opening Programs, getting online and searching
the Internet. Printed material is passed out to students for all items
covered in the program. No need to take notes. “Instructor Helpers”
provide individual help during class for students who need assistance.

FLASH DRIVE:
BACKUP COMPUTER FILES AND DOCUMENTS
Tuesday,
September 23, 10:00 –12:30 (Noon)
Learn to save and transfer files (backup) from your computer to an
external device (flash drive).. It is important to backup your computer
data so it is not lost if your computer fails. Each participant will
receive a free flash drive at the conclusion of the class

ART START

Learn the basics of turning your pictures into
photo paintings. Corel Painter Essentials 4
(a user friendly program and a lot of fun) will
be used along with the Wacum Draw tablet. A basic knowledge of computer
is needed.

CREATING A MUSIC CD USING
iTUNES SOFTWARE

Learn to download music from a
music CD into the computer and create a compilation CD. This is a great
way to organize your music collection and enjoy your all time favorite
songs.

HOW TO BUY A COMPUTER

This class will cover the basic features everyone needs in a computer,
plus explain those extras that are important for various special
applications. Differences in processor speeds, memory storage capacity
and graphics capabilities will be discussed. This class will give you
the information you need to make an informed decision when shopping for
a new computer.

ALL ABOUT DIGITAL CAMERAS
Tuesday, November 18, 10:00 – 11:30 AM
Are you confused about mega-pixels, resolution, picture quality, digital
and optical zooms, memory cards, and all that digital camera stuff? If
so, enroll in the class and learn the various features of a digital
camera. The class will cover all the basic features being offered by
today’s point and shoot digitals, pro-sumer digitals, and digital SLR
cameras. You can improve your photography skills.

NOTE: Those who join the 2009 Computer Club prior to November 1 may

viewer software will launch automatically. If needed, the Microsoft
PowerPoint Viewer can be downloaded from this site.
